Chart Your Own Course
How responsibility, calmness, and solution-focused action carry you through uncertainty and change without losing sight of your trading goals.
This past week I read the reactions on Discord around Ufunded and the AFM's statements. They ranged from healthy critical questions to blind panic - and everything in between. For some it felt like their entire trading journey was suddenly hanging by a thread, for others it was "game over". As if the vehicle disappears, and with it, immediately, the destination too.
My view?
A trading platform is just a vehicle, and there are many of them. Temporary and replaceable. They are part of a constantly changing market. But the skill to read markets, manage risk, regulate emotions and patiently wait for opportunities… that's the real work. That's your driver's license—something you carry with you for the rest of your life.
Whoever is only in love with the vehicle panics the moment it gets a scratch. Whoever falls in love with the process, with growth, with mastery, and with developing sound judgment and self-control, understands that the skill is always more important than the platform you trade on.
Day trading was never meant to be a fast track. It's personal development disguised as a financial pursuit. Adaptability. Problem-solving. Emotional control under pressure. That's the real training.
If regulations, a platform, or a business model change, that can absolutely have an impact. But it doesn't automatically mean the end of the road. How you respond makes the difference. As far as I'm concerned, the market is once again asking the same question:
What do you need to do to achieve what you want to achieve?
"Don't wish for less problems, wish for more skills.
Don't wish for less challenge, wish for more wisdom.
Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better." — Jim Rohn
You chart your own course toward the life you want. The trading platform is merely the vehicle.
Circumstances are what they are. And there's always a solution.
Stay calm, composed, and patient, and work toward the solution. Focus on what is possible, rather than what isn’t. That is the shift in mindset you need. Time and again.
In the recording below, I use the first 15 minutes to explain the fundamental market structure concepts BOS (Break of Structure) and CHoCH (Change of Character) using the US500 as an example. In the last 15 minutes I discuss what you can expect on the US500 this week based on the analysis from the first part.
