Patience, Effort and Trust
Why patience, deliberate effort, and trust in your trading plan reinforce one another and replace random decision-making.
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.
The holidays are a perfect moment for reflection - a pause that also lets you look ahead to all the great things you want to achieve in 2026. As you reflect and look ahead to what you want to achieve, I'd like to emphasize just how important patience and calm are. In life - and in trading.
But just as important: putting in the work and trusting the process.
These three reinforce each other. When you combine them well, randomness and doubt begin to fade, and something much more powerful emerges: working systematically.
At the bottom of this message you'll see two clear examples where patience, effort and trust come together.
And how does that translate to my own trading? By documenting everything as simply as possible during my weekend reflection. That way, I can review it with my mentor while also sharing the lessons with you.
Taking screenshots/recordings, logging, reflecting, learning. That's putting in the work. That's arguably even more important than placing individual trades. Without that work, they are merely trades that made or lost money - nothing more.
A plan or strategy built around a checklist you fully own and use to validate each setup is fundamental to working systematically. Based on that you choose whether or not to enter the trade. Read more about that in this message.
Patience and calm grow through that reflection. Confidence develops when you keep following this process consistently and carefully.
And that's exactly where the real progress lies.
